I am travelling to Uganda in September.

I understand that EUR are accepted in Banks and forex bureaus so I plan to travel carrying mostly EUR which is the currency used in my country. How current are the rates they offer in these places?

No to Cyanika but there are informal folks around pressing you to deal. Be very wary of those, scams are rife. Most 'business' places are up to date. I have never perceived a material difference between locations. Just a short follow up question. Are forex shops open on Saturday? Any idea on work hours? Forex opening hours are far more convenient than banks.

Not quite "Open all hours" but if there is business to be done they will be there. It is however advised that you don't carry large sums of money around while in Uganda.

You can travel with your credit card and withdraw money from either Entebbe or Kampala that will help you while on the trip. I understand that Entebbe or Kampala is much more convenient as far as foreign exchange, however, I wont be travelling in that part of the country.

That's why in my previous message I mentioned Cyanika border, Kisoro, QENP, and Kambale.

And what worries me most is that I will enter Uganda from Cyanika border sometime on a Saturday, thats why I was asking if forex bureaus are open on weekends. I am spending Saturday night in Bwindi NP will be doing Gorilla trek on Sunday. I will be passing through Kisoro sometime on Saturday.

I will have rental car so I can stop anytime, if I find a forex place open that is. If you are really stuck hotels may well change Eur into UGS for you but the rate may not be great.
